Is this per person or per forum?
Per person. You pay R50 a month for each patroller and R100 a month for each administrator you add.
What counts as an administrator?
Anyone who needs roster, SAPS liaison or compliance tools — typically your chairperson, secretary and sector heads.
Can we mix and match as our forum grows?
Yes. Add or remove patrollers and administrators at any time — you're only billed for who's active that month.
Is our data shared with SAPS or anyone else?
No. Your forum's data is private to your committee and members, unless you choose to export and share a report yourself — or a resident opts to link their profile to a security company (see below).
How do residents sign up?
In the Beacon mobile app, not on this site — they pick your forum from a list and register directly. Their R20/month is billed to your forum's account.
Does Beacon help our community raise money?
It can. The price you pay is Beacon's licence fee. On top of that, your community can choose to add a community fee of its own — it's your preference, and any additional revenue stays with your forum to help build and support your community, from patrol equipment and safety events to social activities.
Can our neighbourhood's security company get access?
Yes — your admin creates one shared login for the security company (no extra charge, no separate account per guard), and residents can link themselves to that company from their own profile. Once linked, the company sees incidents in your forum and gets alerted when that resident presses their emergency button.
